January and February in London
We have done a lot of exploring throughout our first 2 months in London. For the first month we lived near Boni’s office in Canary Wharf - it had a pretty sweet view but the area was a bit ‘corporate’. In February we moved into an Airbnb in Hammersmith - it has been nice to experience what definitely feels like the ‘posher’ side of town. The single most valuable thing we did over the last 2 months was buying ourselves proper insulated waterproof jackets - a life saver!
Some highlights from our many many hours of walking the streets of London include:
- A newfound true love for Sunday roasts at local pubs - amazing!
- Eating bagels in Brick Lane (delicious salt meat bagels - yumm!).
- Markets in Greenwich, Hackney and Bermondsey.
- Parks - Epping Forest, Richmond Park, Hyde Park and Holland Park.
- Palaces - Buckingham, Kensington and Hampton Court.
- Exploring the Hampton Court and Molesey area where my grandparents grew up - was pretty cool to see the house my nana grew up in.
- Going to an amazing gig at the Apollo - Iron and Wine and Half Waif were truly awesome.
- Reconnecting with old friends - doing everything from first birthdays to trying to relive our youth!
Just this week we have also been absolutely spoilt by having snow in London! This has absolutely thrilled us!
